FAQ

Do you charge by the hour?

No. all rates are based on incremental blocks. For more details

check out our block rates.

Does 24 hour block mean I get 24 hours of studio time?

Yes.

Do I have to pay for 24 hours of studio time if I don’t need it?

No. you only pay for what you require.

Do I save money by booking a 24 hour block?

Yes. If you are certain that booking a smaller block will not exceed the

time you require, then that is best. If you are not certain, it

is best to book the 24 hour block. You actually save money, rather

than paying for additional smaller blocks.

If I save money booking a 24 hour block what is the purpose of the

smaller blocks?

The smaller blocks were designed to meet the needs of local artist with

finished works, which don’t require flow time to create their masterpiece.

Finished works meaning, a completed song, when the only thing left to

do is record and burn, which is perfect for bands with live instruments.

If you have finished works that need to be recreated it is best to book

the 24 hour block, because recreating a song usually means making

changes. You want to have plenty of flow time to try different things.

If I pay for a block and don’t use my entire time do I lose it?

No. if you book a block and can not put in all the man hours, you can

save the rest of your time for another day. Most local artist have jobs

and can’t put in a straight 6 - 24 hour session including me!

If I have a group do we get to share a block?

Yes. Groups and bands pay one price for a block. In a group or band

the block rate can be split between the members, saving you money.

Can I make a partial payment for my studio time?

Yes. We accept partial payments on studio time. To get started you will

need to pay half the cost of your block rate, however if you do not pay

the remaining balance on your studio time you will not be able to burn

or make copies of your recorded work.

My cousins and friends are big fans of mine can I bring them along

to watch?

No. unfortunately 8MO maintains a strict code of closed sessions.

The only persons that will be admitted are band and group members only,

no tag-a-longs. (relatives, fans, groupies etc.) Some exceptions maybe made

for under aged artist and persons playing a major role in the development

of the group, band or artist.
